A mystery unravelled...
Hi NFFG Researcher,
The information below is quite the feat of unravelling if there ever was one!!! Thank you! I knew that there was two different Hezekiahs lines in Kent county but haven’t spent that much time in separating them.
(NFFG family research message to Mark follows...)
Message from Maureen W., November, 2007
Hi Richard, (NFFG project Co-ordinator)
I am in awe! I can barely get my mind around the information you sent me. Thank you so much!! I have just begun the research on the Phillips Family. The only information I had on them was my grandmother's Bible that said Seth S. Cornell married a Mary Phillips. After that I was able to put some information together when their daughter Marietta (my grgr grandmother) tried to get compensation from the government when her husband, John Wesley Puffer was killed in the civil war. Because she and John were married in Canada and she didn't have a marriage certificate, she had to get letters from her family saying they knew this marriage to have taken place. George P., Chancy, Ester, Priscilla and Louisa came forward and it is on record in the National Archives with John's war records. So you were right on.
I know you have just helped out a lot of people with this information And we all thank you so much for sharing.
I would love to know any other information you might have. If you would like you can reach me at my e-mail --------
Thanks again Maureen W.....
Subject line of message... Wonderful Package of Information (July 2004)
Dear Richard:
I truly have enjoyed my CD, your website, my letter, and my certificate. I would recommend this to anyone. I have done a substantial amount of information on my family tree and still have considered it a definite asset to have purchased your CD and information that you have worked hard on composing for all interested family tree cousins!
Carry on, Cousin!
Sincerely,
T. H.

Hi Richard,
My package arrived today and I am so happy to have it!
That certificate is really nice. I'm going to frame it and hang it on a wall. I am very proud of that piece of paper and I appreciate so much the way you helped me link together my family history with my ancestors of days past. I also really appreciate the information you gave me about my great-great grandmother's family, of which I had nothing! It's so neat to see my family photographs in the scrapbooks on the cd! Now I wish I had sent more!
I want to thank you for your patience and for your willingness to work so closely with me the last few months. I know you are very busy and your messages meant a lot to me. I have printed and saved every one!
It pleases me so much to see my family now connected to these ------'s that I had read so much about, but could never find the connection to. I will always be grateful to you, Richard, for providing the link.
Your -------- Cousin,
Julie J------- (Minnesota, 2003)

Dear Richard,
Well thanks to you I have traced my family back 12 generations to John D- and Janet M- where it seems to end with information. I really appreciate all the work you have done to make this easier for all of us.

Dear Richard,
I can not forget about your generosity and thoughtfulness. My mind has been quite occupied with affairs of our United States. It has been a blessing to see so many countries coming to our aid and praying with our nation. I want to first express my sincere "thanks" for all the data you gave me. Needless to say I was quite overtaken with all that you wrote.

Hi Richard.
I just finished browsing the information you sent me on my ancestry and checking over the corrections you sent against my files. How wonderful to have someone that is courteous enough to follow through and take the time to help correct data! ...

I just LOVE it when someone, such as yourself, knows information about the actual people behind the names & dates. The names & dates are well & fine, but I want to know WHO these people were, and WHAT they did in their lifetimes !!! I am sure you have seen that little "forward" that goes about the internet regarding the little dash between the dates of birth & death on a headstone, and how the Dash represents the persons entire lifetime... Thank You So Much for your research Richard ~!!!
I am Most Grateful for your time & efforts ~!!!
Sincerely, Carolyn

Dear Mr. Ripley,
I just wanted to thank you for linking me to your website! It's taken me awhile to reply as I have been so excited to look over all the information and add a lot of it to my family tree.... that's one of the reasons I was so thrilled to find all your information! It was like an early Christmas present!

WOW! Richard I just got through looking at you pages on the website. You have been busy! How did you teach and do all this you must have been going 24-7. I have been moving from Salt Lake City to Washington, a small town just north or Saint George, Utah. It is in the Southwest corner of Utah, just across the border from Nevada. I was just thinking about getting back to work on this but you have done a great job. Congratulations

Hi Richard, I have gone over nearly every one of your entries on the NFFG website and have enjoyed it very much and I feel so inadequate when I see such beautiful records. As to a question you asked me about my sources, I don't remember if I answered you or not but...

Your web site is wonderful! My cousins in Texas, Frances & Glenn ---, called me the other night and told me about it and I've been spending a horrible amount of time on it. I've added a couple of thousand names to my data base as a result of your site....

Dear Richard Ripley,
I am new at the study of genealogy, and have been fascinated by the information that is available. Though it is exciting to find items on the internet, I find it so much more believable when it appears in a book. Your pictorial website, "The Roads Taken", is beautifully done, and full of documented information. You have obviously been at this a long time....
