A high quality, professional family tree is priceless, and could be the greatest gift you can offer your parents, or endow upon your children and grandchildren.

NFFG Membership

And Family Research Projects

You can only be a member of NFFG if your family ancestry is researched and proven by NFFG. This research will provide you with the details of YOUR family ancestry, according to the research needs, which you specify. This will become your NFFG Membership Project.

The highest level of NFFG Membership, is the Forensic Level. Other levels are Introductory, or Advanced Levels. The level will depend on the degree of research which you have already done, or which you and NFFG do together, in the course of your Membership Project. It may be as extensive as you wish, and are willing to pay for.

Previous Members, who joined NFFG at a time when requirements and costs were less, may update their status to Forensic Level, with payment of a reduced fee. Contact us for details of such an Upgrade.

What do you wish to research, in your complex family ancestry? For example, you may be interested in a specific surname lineage, father to son, with few or no details about the names of wives or siblings in your direct ancestry. This is a simple Y-chromosome project, and is the least costly. Or, you may want all parents identified, and all siblings along the way. Or, you may want a lineage form yourself to some specified ancestor of the past. This is a complex X-Y chromosome project, and is more costly to research. Each choice will have an impact on the cost of your professional genealogical research.

This proven, professional lineage, is what you really want. NFFG Membership is really a bonus extra, which will provide formal confirmation of your connection to an early founder, and provide you with continuing support as your research continues over time. For many people, the research never ends.

You may wish to have your own previous research accomplishments verified by NFFG. Your NFFG Membership will show one of the following status indicators: RDF (Registered Descendant of a Founder), or RRF (Registered Family Researcher, with Advanced or Expert Status). Someone holding RRF - Expert Status is a qualified family researcher themselves, and may request a letter of Reference from NFFG for this purpose.

Once your initial family ancestry is verified by NFFG from a (small or large) Family Research Project, you will become an NFFG Member. Your linkage to a Founder will be accepted and acknowledged by NFFG.

As a Member, you may receive an official NFFG Membership Certificate, and a fully searchable & documented copy of an NFFG Family CD. These items are available for the special reduced fee for NFFG Members.

Other rights and special options are available to NFFG Members. Certificates and NFFG Registration for children and grandchildren of Members, are available for greatly reduced cost.

Full information on Family Research Projects, and instructions for obtaining a searchable CD, can be found on the main NFFG web page. Click on the link below, and then navigate to the right place on that page. It's easy. Anyone who is interested in NFFG Membership, should view the details on our Main NFFG Web Page.
